Posted by BetOnline Staff on 11/3/2013 7:47:56 PM

Who: Thoroughbreds – Outstrip, Goldencents, Chriselliam, Beholder, Groupie Doll, Mizdirection, Secret Circle, Wise Dan, Mucho Macho Man
What: Horse Racing Betting Tips – The Breeders’ Cup
Where: Santa Anita
When: Friday and Saturday, November 1st and 2nd

Here’s what Pete Mitchell said in his 2-part article on Thursday, October 31st, the day prior to Breeders’ Cup 2013. It doesn’t get any better than this! Top-4 finishes and payoffs are highlighted in red:

BC Marathon: I’m not crazy about anything in here, but reports are that #10-Worldly (6-1) (3rd $4.80) is doing great…key him in all exotics.

BC Juvenile Turf: This isn’t exciting, but I believe the winner comes from among the three favorites…U.S.-based #5-Bobby’s Kitten (5-2) (3rd $2.40) and the two Euros, #2-Giovanni Boldini (7-2) (2nd $6.40…$3.40) and #4-Outstrip (4-1) (1st $14.00…$6.80…$3.60). Amazingly, Giovanni Boldini, a West Virginia-bred, was a $675,000 yearling purchase by the powerhouse Tabor/Magnier group. Outstrip has made a good impression since his arrival at Santa Anita. $2 Exacta 4-2 paid $46.20. $2 Trifecta 4-2-5 paid $143.80.

BC Dirt Mile: The good #10-Verrazano (3-1) probably wins this…but he’s a question mark after the Travers flop and subsequent layoff. #12-Goldencents (4-1) (1st $9.60…$5.00…$4.00) is marooned in Post 12, but has the speed to grab a good position heading into the first turn. Our sleeper is the classy #2-Golden Ticket (12-1) (2nd $6.40…$4.60), who’s in good form, should enjoy a ground-saving, stalking trip, and is reunited with Rosario. $2 Exacta 12-2 paid $69.80. $2 Double Races 7-8 paid $58.40.

BC Juvenile Fillies Turf:
Like in the Juvenile Turf, I’m looking at a pair of talented Europeans plus a North-American-based runner. Use #2-Al Thakhira (6-1), #8-Chriselliam (6-1) (1st $15.80…$7.80…$6.20) and from the Mark Casse barn, #14-My Conquestadory (9-2) (4th). $2 Double Races 8-9 paid $71.00. $2 Pick-3 Races 7-9 paid $421.00.

BC Distaff: If #4-Royal Delta (8-5) (4th) is on her game, she’ll run this outstanding group off their feet, earning a rare BC three-peat in the process. Trainer Mott has tightened the screws on this marvelous mare since her prep for this race, and she looks ready for a top effort. #5-Beholder (5-2) (1st $7.60…$4.20…$3.20) is in career form, and will push Royal Delta to the limit. $2 Double Races 9-10 paid $53.00. $2 Pick-3 Races 8-10 paid $320.00. $2 Pick-4 Races 7-10 paid  $1,615.60.

BC Juvenile Fillies: Of the top two finishers in The Frizette, I’m siding with #1-Artemis Agrotera (3-1), who has tactical speed from the rail. She has trained forwardly since her Frizette score, and trainer Hushion is getting her to relax early and wait for her cues. Her breeding suggests that two turns shouldn’t pose a problem.

BC Filly and Mare Turf: #1-Dank (5-2) (1st $5.00…$3.40…$2.80) looks like the one if she can duplicate her Beverly D. performance. Tough race.

BC Filly and Mare Sprint: Trainer Bradley insists that defending champ #11-Groupie Doll (5-2) (1st $8.00…$4.60…$3.40) is better than ever. If that’s the case, she’s the likely winner. I’ll use live longshots #4-Dance Card (8-1) (3rd $4.80) and #5-Teddy’s Promise (6-1) as well. $2 Double Races 5-6 paid $19.40.

BC Turf Sprint: I love the distaff members of this field. #4-Reneesgotzip (5-1) (DH 2nd $3.60…$4.80) is even better as a 4YO and may forget to stop. Defending champ #12-Mizdirection (4-1) (1st $7.40…$4.40…$3.40) won this off a similar layoff last year, and trainer Puype is raving about how well she’s doing. $2 Exacta 12-4 paid $66.60. $2 Double Races 6-7 paid $42.60. $2 Pick-3 Races 5-7 paid  $99.20.

BC Juvenile: How ‘bout some home cookin’ with two-turn debut winner #6-Tap It Rich (6-1). He won easily after a slow start, and there were huge gaps to the second, third and fourth-place finishers. That Beyer Speed Figure of 89 wasn’t too shabby either.

BC Turf: Breeders’ Cup returnee #7-The Fugue (3-1) (2nd $4.40…$3.00) defeated males last out in a Group 1 at Leopardstown, and females prior to that in a Group 1 at York at 1 ½ miles. She would have won the BC F&M Turf last year if not for traffic trouble.

BC Sprint: The speed…#7-Private Zone (3-1) and the stalker…#9-Secret Circle (4-1) (1st $7.00…$4.80…$3.60) look like the ones. The closers will have their work cut out.

BC Mile: #8-Wise Dan (1-1) (1st $3.60…$2.80…$2.20) will get the perfect setup behind the dueling speed. He’ll defend his title. $2 Double Races 10-11 paid $12.60.

BC Classic: Like Wise Dan in the BC Mile, #6-Mucho Macho Man (5-1) (1st $10.00…$4.60…$3.60) loves it here and will get plenty of pace to close into. Look for him to make his move on the far turn, and note that when he has the lead at the top of the lane, he doesn’t give it up! I wouldn’t argue with anyone using #9-Game On Dude (8-5), who will lock up Horse of the Year with a win. $2 Double Races 11-12 paid $19.20. $2 Pick-3 Races 10-12 paid  $75.60.
