Pacific Classic Betting - Game On In CLassic

Posted by Brian Mulligan on 8/23/2012 6:00:02 PM

Who: Thoroughbreds – Amani (win).
What: Horse Racing Betting Tips –  Pacific Classic                                                   Where: Del Mar
When: Saturday August 26
Game on Dude will try to turn the sports betting hat trick this at Del Mar Sunday in the Pacific Classic, is coming to the mile and a quarter million-dollar showcase on top of his game and has been tabbed as the 5-2 favorite.
The star drilled a sharp 1:24.60 last week while in company with and sitting just off stablemate Midnight Interlude, who proved his class taking the Santa Anita Derby 2 years ago.
He will likely get a similar trip this weekend to the work or he may even be able to make the lead and attempt to towrope them to the wire.
Akkadian looked good winning at this Del Mar meeting but was in against much softer and will be a huge price.
Richard’s Kid will be making his first start for Leandro Moro since he was recently sold and taken away from Bob Baffert. A double winner of this very race, he was inching toward Game on Dude in the Hollywood Gold Cup and should be picking up some serious pieces late.
Where’s Sterling seems to be overmatched as he comes in from Calder. The charge has won two softer stakes of late but only has a Grade 3 win on the resume.
Amani is an interesting filly. Trained by world-class conditioner Neil Drysdale, this miss has a nice turn of late foot and she got a nice prep over the surface. She has won 10 of 12 and has never been out of the money and that is a serious record. Visually impressive winning by 25 lengths in a race in Chile last fall, this gal rates an upset glance.
Dullahan appears to be taking a shot in this race. He only has one win on the slate this season and it was in the spring when he overcame trouble. He has a tendency to break poorly and that must be addressed as to what horse betting price one will take.
Jaycito is the long-fused half of the Baffert trainees here. Proven locally, but he has not won a big race since he was a juvenile.
Rail Trip has always teased of talent but he doesn’t run them alike. He snapped a long losing streak last month at Del Mar winning the Grade 2 San Diego but is looking at more speed this time. His calling card could be the fact that he is versatile enough to press the pace and cash or come from left field.
Riveting Reason will be a huge number as only a maiden winner but he sure could muddle the pace. He just showed :45 and change speed in defeat last time and would expect rider to be sending.
Suggestive Boy is yet another South American import in the clever hands of Hall of Fame trainer Ron McAnally, who over the years has had great success with these kinds of runners. The major thing he must overcome is that he must prove he can win on the synthetic.
His best asset could be the fact he can be placed anywhere and still fire.
Game on Dude will likely play his cards from the get go and make the lead. Rail Trip’s hand may be forced since he drew the rail and will be in the first flight along with Riveting Reason and possibly Where’s Sterling.
If this kind of a pace occurs, Amani, who won by 25 lengths at this very distance in her native, just may run them all down at a hint of a sportsbook price.
