Online Belmont Betting - Happy Hour in the Belmont

Posted by Brian Mulligan on 6/7/2012 2:39:43 PM

Who: Thoroughbreds – I’ll Have Another (key).
What: Horse Racing Betting Tips – The Belmont Stakes
Where: Belmont Park
When: Saturday June 9th

A dozen go in the Belmont Stakes on Saturday and online sports book players will either belly up to the bar for I’ll Have Another or go for the jugular and try to hit the longshot that may be there.

This corner is a believer and I’ll Have Another is the pick on Saturday.

The colt tries to go where few have ventured in history; interestingly, he’s never been favored but that will change this weekend.

He overcome a bad pace scenario last time in the Preakness and note Bodemeister was clear for fun. The lone poor effort came in the slop upstate so that will be a concern if comes up off. Bred to improve as the distances increase, one of this guy’s best assets is he can adapt to any kind of pace that unfolds and that is the key to the Belmont.

There is not much speed in the race and the feeling is that I’ll Have Another could get an ideal garden trip maybe sitting behind Paynter.

That runner carries the hopes of Team Baffert and this guy is going great guns. The wins have come against small fields but his best asset is his speed. He got away with a slower pace than I’ll Have Another Preakness Day but still was visually impressive. Another thing to think about is that 4 of the last 5 winners of this race were making their Triple Crown betting debuts.

It looks like these two horses, and maybe Union Rags and Dullahan are the legit contenders to win this race.

Dullahan has been lying in wait since the overland route third in the Derby when he was in tight that day entering the first turn, then rallied 7 wide in the lane.

Once able to negotiate some real estate, this turned into a new runner. The drill last Sunday screams off the canvas and his trainer compared the work to the spin he put in before his Blue Grass success.
The trainer about the 6/3 work, Dale Romans: “ I thought it was super. When he works like that, he runs big. He looked like he was galloping and then we got back to the barn, he recovered quickly. He wasn’t blowing. I think he’s ready.”

This runner looms the major obstacle to a Triple Crown winner.

Freshened since being roughed up in the Derby, Union Rags has much more speed than has been evident of late. One of the things he has going for him is the success locally in the Champagne and he was coming away late that day. Know this that since 2000, 5 runners have raced in the Derby, skipped Maryland and won this classic.

The other horse that deserves mention is Optimizer. This D. Wayne Lukas charge was forced to steady in the Oaklawn finale and in the Derby. Marooned out in post 10 in Maryland, the runner never really got untracked.

Not sure is this guy can get up in time but he has to be considered in the exotics.

The play is to key I’ll Have Another on top in the trifecta with Dullahan, Union Rags, Paynter, Optimizer and Unstoppable U, who has made no mistakes in his two wins and has the blood on the bottom side to get the trip.

Good luck and get lucky on the sports betting sites.
