Mrs Revere Stakes Betting - Mrs. Revere Set to Unfold

Posted by Brian Mulligan on 11/15/2012 5:47:49 PM

What: Mrs. Revere Stakes
Who: Leading Astray (key on top and bottom with Centre Court, Peace Preserver, English Class, Miz Ida and Regalo Mia)
Where: Churchill Downs
When: Saturday, November 17

Sophomore fillies going a mile and a sixteenth on grass will be in the spotlight Saturday at Churchill in the Grade 2 $175,000 Mrs. Revere Stakes and nocturnal crowd will be primed for the festivities.

The Saturday card will be the first and only Downs After Dark opportunity of the meet and the horse betting patrons have been encouraged to wear clothes reminiscent of the Roaring Twenties, but without Prohibition.

Last year Marketing Mix came into the race off a clever second in a Grade 1 and proceeded to get an ideal 2-hole trip before holding on by a length and a half with a 92 Beyer. Mix went on to validate that form this year by winning multiple Graded races and running 2nd beaten three quarters in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf.

Centre Court looms the chalk. She took the Grade 2 Lake George this summer at Saratoga and is using the same springboard to this race as Marketing Mix did. Court also ran second in the Queen Elizabeth last out beaten 2 lengths and she is a true betting sites horse for the course as she is unbeaten on the Churchill grass.

Leading Astray will need plenty of help up front. She just has no speed but she has a will to win and she breaks from the inside. She put four straight victories together in Chicago this year and was far from disgraced when a closing third in a Grade 3 at Keeneland last month.

Colonial Flag may be waving to rivals as she goes by. The long-fused miss was 2nd a length in her other local grass try and she was hung wide in her last race. She made her bones taking a Grade 3 at Woodbine in late August.

Miz Ida has just done whatever it has taken to reach the charmed circle. She broke her maiden on this course and she was compromised when hung 4 wide in her only poor effort this year. She is seeking her 5th win on the year.

Somali Lemonade comes to the race fresh but she is in the good hands of Michael Matz. This gal started her career winning her first two races but then lost the will to win. She just has not shown that killer instinct but almost pulled off a 5-1 upset in the Grade 1 Garden City in September. Another run like that and she could upset the apple cart.

Charged Cotton has won half of her 6 outs but has never faced Graded rivals while Peace Preserver also has never been in a Graded race but she comes off a stellar win in a $150,000 stakes.

Lateegra could be up against it after just beating a group at Woodbine. English Class almost shocked Miz Ida last time but she has had three tough races in a row and could be the worse for wear.

Solid Appeal has anything but as she just beat entry-level allowance foes. Volcat got away with moderate splits in last and still gave up the ghost and on the outside is Regalo Mia, who has shown flashes of brilliance despite just winning once.

In a total scramble, take a shot by keying the rail runner Leading Astray, who has only lost twice and once was beaten a head. Key her first and second in the trifecta with Centre Court, Peace Preserver, English Class, Miz Ida and Regalo Mia.

Good luck with your sports betting.
