Knickerbocker Horse Race Betting - Tip Off In The Knickerbocker

Posted by Brian Mulligan on 10/10/2012 6:15:19 PM

What: Horse Racing Betting Tips –  Knickerbocker
Who: Thoroughbreds – Boisterous (win)
Where: Belmont
When: Saturday, October 13

Knickerbocker is a surname that dates back to the early settlers of New Netherland and in recent decades has summed up the basketball world of New York Knicks fans but for today’s purposes online betting enthusiasts can get a bird’s eye view of this Grade 3 mile and an 8th turf race that goes Saturday at Belmont.

A contentious field of 8 will meet the starter in the $150,000 race and let’s look at them from the rail out.

Freud’s Honor is 0 for 5 this year and was just taken down and placed tenth after clipping heels in his last race, where he was beaten by nearly 3 lengths.

Sky Blazer has only been in the money once in Graded company and that was his last race when he broke dead last and passed tired horses to get the show dough in the Grade 2 Bernard Baruch.

Boisterous is out to defend his title in this stakes. He is coming off a similar layoff he used last year before sitting 5th of 7th early, then igniting in the final furlong to get by a half-length in this race while recording a 96 Beyer.

Bombaguia got away with pretty soft :50 2/5 and 1:14 4/5 splits in the Grade 2 Bowling Green last time and still lost by a head. He is looking at a faster pace here with more company up front.

Tune Me In is peaking at the right time. He popped and stopped in his only try at Belmont but he comes in confident winning two in a row at the shore. He is another that has speed, but will be pushed to clear.

Stormy Lord has some semblance of speed but not sure he can make the lead in this horse betting race. He proved he fits in this league with a tough beat in a Grade 2 in August and he is coming off a winning 94 Beyer in Philly.

His trainer had this to say in the Belmont notes, Ian Black: “It’s a mile and an 8th and he likes some give in the ground. He went well in a drill on Sunday, just breezing, happy to be out there.”

Barocci has never won in Group or Graded company but he is in the good hands of Christophe Clement and he has run 4 bang up races stateside but with just one win.

See Tobe has been very consistent this year but basically just going through his conditions.

With at least 3 runners with designs on the lead in this race, look for the winner today to come from off the pace and that candidate is Boisterous. The Shug McGaughey student has won at this distance, is 4 for 7 on the Belmont grass, has trained well for this including a nice yielding course work last Tuesday and he was compromised in last when the winner of the Arlington Million got a soft lead and held it together.

They just may be Boisterous in the winner’s circle.

Good luck on the sports betting sites.
