Horse Racing Online Betting – Dwyer and Beyers

Posted by Brian Mulligan on 6/27/2012 5:09:32 PM

Who: Thoroughbreds – Teeth of the Dog.
What: Horse Racing Betting Tips – Dwyer Stakes
Where: Belmont Park
When: Saturday June 30

The $200,000 Grade 2 Dwyer Stakes will be renewed this Saturday at a mile a sixteenth at Belmont and online sportsbook bettors can try to smoke out the sophomore winner by looking at speed and how the race sets up.

Legends over the decades have won this race. Names like Man o’ War, Gallant Fox, Whirlaway and Conquistador Cielo have come away with the hardware in this stakes. Last year Dominus came off an April to July layoff to win this race wire-to-wire for Steve Asmussen with a 98 Beyer.

He was coming off a tough neck beat in the Grade 3 Derby Trial at Churchill

Unstoppable U helped set the table for Union Rags to win the Belmont Stakes and he will be forwardly placed this weekend. Proven locally, he has only beaten small fields but the best sports betting sites talent is there. According to trainer Ken McPeek’s assistant, the horse is thriving. On the Belmont website, Lars Becdelamotte: “He’s been doing great since the Belmont. He was more mad than anything else. He missed the break in the Belmont, got tangled up with another horse and it was his first time he’d ever been behind horses, first time two turns and a mile and a half.”

Teeth of the Dog figures to be a player in this race too. It took him awhile to figure it out but trainer Michael Matz is patient. He ran okay in the Wood, beat better than half the field home in the Preakness, and then won the $100,000 Easy Goer on Preakness Day.

He showed a new dimension that day coming from way off the pace and that just gives him options here.

Zetterholm has a grinding style and things will have to break right for him. He acted up before the Preakness but still got fourth.

Monarchic will be trying to prove he can win on the conventional dirt. He graduated on grass at Churchill, won next over 5 on the synthetic at Presque Isle and is coming off a layoff.

Morgan’s Guerrilla will be making his Belmont Park debut and had no apparent excuse when second last time out.

Fast Falcon will have to improve. He just ran big in his stakes debut but again has to deal with arch rival Teeth of the Dog.

Guyana Star Dweej was a slow learner but showed ability chasing Unstoppable U before being eased in the Belmont Stakes. A bargain buy at $5,500, runner could sit a nice stalk and pounce trip but he will need a major turn around.

Expect the race to unfold with Unstoppable U gunning hard at the sound of the bell trying to steal the race. If he gets away with a lonely lead, he’ll be tough but don’t be shocked if Morgan’s Guerrilla and Monarchic are in close pursuit.

At the top of the lane the leaders will start to fade and Teeth of the Dog and newly transferred rider Joel Rosario will make the move at the top of the lane and draw off to win by himself.

Teeth of the Dog for the betting online win.
