Euro-Shippers Look Tough in E. P. Taylor and Canadian International

Posted by Pete Mitchell on 10/14/2012 6:29:01 PM

Who: Thoroughbreds ??? Siyouma, Imperial Monarch
What: Horse Racing Betting Tips ??? The E. P. Taylor, The Canadian International
Where: Woodbine
When: Sunday, October 13th

A pair of Grade 1 turf routes headline a top-class card at Woodbine on Sunday. The 56th Running of The E. P Taylor, for fillies and mares at 1 ?? miles, has attracted the highly-regarded 4YO filly Siyouma, winner of the Group 1 Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket last out. Two races later, Aidan O???Brien trainee Imperial Monarch, game winner of the Group 1 Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp in July, will have an opportunity to strut his stuff in the 75th Running of the Canadian International, for three-year-olds and upward at 1 ?? miles. Let???s take a quick look at these classic races below.

#3-Siyouma (3-1) just keeps getting better. Her Racing Post Ratings have climbed steadily throughout her career, reaching a lofty 119 in the Sun Chariot Stakes. With wins at a mile up to 1 5/16miles, the distance of the E. P Taylor should pose no problems. She???s also won on left-handed courses, so the Woodbine layout should suit her just fine. It???s her race to lose. I???ll bet on Siyouna to win at odds of 2-1 or better.

#10-Imperial Monarch (3-1) appears to tower over this field talent-wise. He won the prestigious Grand Prix de Paris as the 9-5 chalk in only his 4th career start, earning an excellent Racing Post Rating of 118 in the process. He won his career debut, as well as his first start as a 3YO, so the three-month break since his victory at Longchamp shouldn???t be viewed as a negative, especially since his connections claim to have him spot on for this engagement. Highly-regarded European rider Ryan Moore will be aboard for the first time, and Imperial Monarch will also receive Lasix for the first time on Sunday. Trainer Aidan O???Brien has enjoyed considerable success shipping across the Atlantic???Sunday should offer another case in point. I???ll bet on Imperial Monarch to win at odds of 2-1 or better.

Those are my horse racing betting tips for this weekend. Best of luck and happy gambling!
