What: Horse Racing Betting Tips –  Cotillion Stakes, Pennsylvania Derby Who:Thoroughbreds – Questing (win) Alpha ( key with Golden Ticket, Casual Trick, Csaba, Macho Macho
Where: Philadelphia Park
When: Saturday September 22

The City of Brotherly Love, in other words Philadelphia, takes center stage this Saturday as PARC RACING showcases the Grade 1 Cotillion Stakes and the Grade 2 Pennsylvania Derby and this is a good chance for online betting sites players to stretch their imagination and hone East Coast skills. Both offer million-dollar purses.

Back in the day, the Cotillion was won by legends like Shuvee and Susan’s Girl and two years ago Horse of the Year Harve de Grace graced the winners circle after recording a career best 108 Beyer taking the 8 and a half furlong fixture wire-to-wire.

The Pennsylvania Derby has been won by Summer Squall, Broad Brush and Macho Uno and last year To Honor and Serve parlayed a $75,000 optional claiming win into glory as he got an ideal 2-hole trip to win at 8-5 with a 105 figure.

With only 4 in the field, let’s get the Cotillion out of the way first.

The race basically comes down to the favorite in Questing trying to put the first blemish on the record of undefeated My Miss Aurelia, who beat Questing last year but that miss was making her stateside debut and did not get the best of trips when making her first start on dirt.

Since, Questing has been solid. While My Miss Aurelia has never been able to post a triple digit Beyer figure, Questing did so in June with a 105 number in a $25,000 Belmont optional and she proved it was no fluke by besting the sports betting figure by one point when taking the Grade 1 Alabama by 9 lengths.

Both fillies have been versatile but even though Questing doesn’t always pay attention to her business, she should be able to make it 4 wins in a row after settling sizzling fractions and prevailing.  Her trainer Kiaran McLaughlin has kept her legs moving and the barn could be set for a huge payday as McLaughlin also trains the soon to be mentioned Alpha.

As for the Pennsylvania Derby, the waters get a little steeper with 8 sophomores poised to do batter.

Only three in the field have won Graded races. Macho Macho won the Grade 2 West Virginia Derby last out by a half length with a 94 Beyer and Golden Ticket and Alpha dead-heated in the Grade 1 Travers at Saratoga earning identical 100 Beyers.

Macho Macho was flattered when the runner he just beat came back to freak in the Super Derby winning by 5.

Casual Trick is the only runner in the field with wins in Philly and he won both of his local starts.

When the gates are sprung look for Csaba and Macho Macho to be sent hard from the get go. That is probably the only way they can win with Alpha and Golden Ticket settling nicely with Casual Trick not far out of it.

At the top of the lane, the pacesetters will tire, Golden Ticket will try to roll but will feel the effects of two tough races in a row and will have nothing left as Alpha swoops by for the score.

Key Alpha on top in the superfecta with Golden Ticket, Casual Trick, Csaba and Macho Macho.

Good luck with your horse betting.
