The Point Spread

With less than 2 weeks to go before the Kentucky Derby online sports betting site players can see how the race may be shaping up by examining the points that the runners have accumulated for the privilege to run the first Saturday in May.

It looks like the cut off point will be around 20 points with the possibility it could go even lower with some defections.

The leader in the clubhouse and the likely Kentucky Derby favorite is California Chrome, who has 150 points and $782,250 in non-restricted stakes earnings.

Vicar???s in Trouble is 2nd in the standings with 120 points and 4 runners have between 100 and 108 points. They are in order Dance With Fate, Wicked Strong, Samraat and Danza.

Three runners have earned at least 90 points. They are in order Hoppertunity, Intense Holiday and Wildcat Red.

From the 10th to the 15th slot on the list come runners that have earned between 60 and 50 points. From the top to the bottom of that list we have We Miss Artie, Ride on Curlin, Chitu, Tapiture, Midnight Hawk and Ring Weekend.

No it gets a bit dicey.

Four runners have at least 24 points. They are Uncle Sigh, Candy Boy, Medal Count and General a Rod.

Six runners are tied with 20 points and less try to assess their chances if they get a shot to run in the Derby.

Vinceremos has won 2 races in his career. One win was by a head the other was by a nose. His best effort in a Graded stakes came when beaten 3 lengths in Ring Weekend???s Tampa Bay Derby. He had a legit excuse last time when he broke from post 12 in a poor effort in the Blue Grass.

Harry???s Holiday has never won beyond 6 and a half-furlongs. He ran huge in the 9-furlong Spiral when beaten a nose and he also ran poorly in the Blue Grass.

Commanding Curve has already re-paid his $75,000 purchase price. He has only won once but it came at Churchill Downs and he has a decent turn of late foot. The best thing he has going for him is the ability to pass horses.

Pablo Del Monte is 0 for 3 this year. Both of his wins came sprinting on the synthetic so he has that to overcome and in his debut at 9 furlongs, he lost ground when it counted.

Bayern is a Bob Baffert trainee that is on the bubble. He won his first 2 races and was impressive in his second win when drawing away by 15 lengths. When given the acid test in the Arkansas Derby, he set the pace but had nothing left when the real racing began.

Social Inclusion is the last on the list with 20 points. The colt exploded for his second victory when earning a 111 Beyer Speed Figure but came back to earth when a tiring third in Wicked Strong???s Wood Memorial.

This colt has :44 and change speed but with the Derby pace projected as hot, as usual, the race may not set up all that great for him.

Stay tuned.
