Betting On Lake George Stakes - By George

Posted by Brian Mulligan on 7/23/2012 6:15:45 PM

Who: Thoroughbreds – Stephanie’s Kitten (key in gimmicks with Samitar and Better Lucky).
What: Horse Racing Betting Tips –  Lake George  Stakes
Where: Saratoga
When: Wednesday July 25

One of the great things about Saratoga for online sports betting players is the plethora of stakes action and Wednesday the Grade 2 Lake George Stakes will be renewed at a mile and a sixteenth on grass for sophomore fillies.

By George is an expression used as an oath to express surprise but it is no surprise that this year’s Lake George is filled with quality and intrigue.

Nine go into the gate, the first will be Elusive Rumour, who has only run one poor race and she was forced to steady that day. This miss has a right to have a nice career as kin to stakes winner and near $200,000 earner Beebe Lake.

Stephanie’s Kitten is the real deal. She scored in a Grade 1 last year and took the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf. Hung wide in her 2012 opener, she got a nice confidence builder in last taking an $184,000 stakes at Churchill.

Centre Court was a bit more keen to run last time in the Grade 3 Regret and she was inching away late.

Better Lucky is going good right now. Proven in a Grade 2 last time when she took the Sands Point, she was beaten by a repeater in her only off form performance.

Dancing Solo has shown versatility and connections will have options down the line as she has proven herself to the horse betting experts on grass and on a conventional track. She showed renewed zest in the drill here last Thursday and should get a nice stalk and pounce trip.

Samitar is making her stateside debut. She was only 2 lengths out of the trifecta in the Group 1 Coronation at Ascot but she proved her class in the race before that event, the Irish One Thousands Guineas at the Curragh where she won at 12-1. The place horse in that last win took the Group 3 Jersey Stakes at Ascot next out.

Somali Lemonade opened her career with two straight wins but has now lost 4 in a row. With limited speed, she can be her own worst enemy.

Medolina has been expertly managed by Todd Pletcher. She has won all three starts, the Beyers are escalating and she can be placed anywhere and still perform.

If the race comes off the grass, Harbor Miss will get an opportunity to run. She will be in tough as a New York-bred who will be pushed along to make the lead.

Better Lucky won her debut and won off the vacation in May. She was right off a sub :46 pace in that last win and should be sent hard from the get go.

If she gets away with a lonely lead, she may get brave but the feeling is that Stephanie’s Kitten will settle nicely early and reel her in late. Look for Kitten to get up in time with Samitar completing the exacta.

Good luck at the Spa with your online sportsbook action.
