Ganging Up On Chrome

Posted by Brian Mulligan on 5/20/2014 2:16:23 AM

As impressive, or unimpressive, online sports betting site players believe California Chrome has been in the last 2 weeks know that he is not scaring anybody away from a possible date with destiny in the Belmont Stakes.

No less than 11 rivals are still in the hunt to challenge California Chrome in the Belmont Stakes.

Ride on Curlin, who was getting to the winner in the Preakness, will be moving on to the New York race as will the Preakness third, Social Inclusion, who was pinballed last Saturday and was gallant to get a slice.

Ride on Curlin may be without his Preakness partner Joel Rosario since that rider was along clever Peter Pan winner Tonalist.

Ring Weekend is on the fence. Trained by Graham Motion, who knows what to do with a good horse, knows there will be plenty of opportunities for his student in the summer and fall.

Kid Cruz is thinking about coming back for more. He showed no speed in the Preakness in a rather dull effort.

Commanding Curve just sneaked into the Derby but he almost got the last laugh when a solid second at 37-1.

Danza closed in the Derby despite being shuffled and he has every right to improve. His March 1 win was better than it looks as the Grade 2 Swale was run the same day and the winner Spot won in 1:22.44 with an 87 Beyer. Danza got his 7 furlongs that day in 1:21.87 with a 79 Beyer.?? And his final Arkansas Derby time was nearly as fast as Will Take Charge ran the Oaklawn Handicap on the same day. This runner???s tactical speed also should suit the Belmont.??

Wicked Strong had a horrible trip in the Derby. First off, he started from post 19. He then stumbled in traffic and had to race wide. This charge showed ability from Day One and he did finish strong in the Remsen to close out 2013. He also was flattered when Constitution, the winner when he raced on 2/22, went on to take the Florida Derby to run his record to 3 for 3.

Samratt pushed the issue at Churchill, just had nothing left. He is a hero locally as a New York-bred as he tries to be like Funny Cide and win a classic race.

Commissioner just chased Tonalist and was losing a little ground late.

Intense Holiday was part of the Derby pace after breaking from slot 15 but he was wilted but the time the real racing began. This racer compromised in the Holy Bull when breaking from the marooned post 11 but despite that horrible post he ran okay. He is giving away winning experience to most in this field and figures to be in the Belmont Stakes picture late if at all.

A lot can happen in three weeks. There will be defections, but astute online sports betting site players will be tuned in to all the action in the mornings leading up to June 7. Look for steady drills, not too taxing, and for runners that are paying attention to a foundation, as a mile and a half is not for little boys.
