Bill Of Rights

Posted by on 3/31/2014 9:19:50 PM

Provisions in this country providing for rights comes under the Bill of Rights and online sports betting site players watched as Constitution upheld his end last weekend winning the Florida Derby in game style.

Constitution made his own luck in the Florida Derby thanks to some help from his rider Javier Castellano. He sat a nice trip, about 3 lengths off the lead early which was set by Wildcat Red.

Constitution hooked up with that rival at the top of the lane and it was tooth and nail from that point forward. The eventual winner was rank early on, and Castellano made a great move getting inside of Wildcat Red entering the stretch.

From there is was anybody’s ballgame but Constitution prevailed by a neck over Red.

The splits were legit. The half went in :48.19 and the three quarters was run in 1:12 flat. Constitution’s final winning time of 1:49.16 stands up very well.

Last year Orb won this race before winning the Kentucky Derby and he was clocked in 1:50.87 in the Florida Derby.

Orb earned a 97 Beyer Speed Figure in the Gulfstream race while Constitution posted a 99 figure.

The blood is there for Constitution to thrive, as half brother Laugh Track was Grade 1 place, successful in a Grade 3 and an earner of over $550,000.

Trained by Todd Pletcher, who had done an excellent job with this unbeaten charge and he was happy with the outcome. Pletcher: “I’ve very, very proud of him. It’s a testament to the quality of horse he is, to go from a maiden, to an allowance, to a Grade 1 and to show a different running style and get some dirt in his face. It was a huge effort.”

The race was likely won when Castellano decided to try to save ground, Castellano: “ At the three-eighths pole I thought I’d have to go around the 2 pacemaker horses. But one thing, it was pretty early and I was going to lose a lot of ground. I just took my shot and it worked out great.”

The ability to track the speed and get the experience of dirt being kicked in his face is huge for Constitution. With a huge field looming in Kentucky, things seldom go perfectly so a runner needs to be able to adapt.

As far as Wildcat Red is concerned, his trainer took it in stride, Jose Garaffolo: “We lost the rail at one point and Castellano was smart enough to take the rail at the top of the stretch. And that was it; it was a hell of a race. I’m not disappointed; he did a great job and was himself like he usually is. We just go beat. He never quit running. I think were seriously to go to Kentucky if the horse comes back in good shape.

That was only Wildcat Red’s 3rd defeat and he was taken down from a win once. He has repaid his $30,000 purchase price in spades.
