The Breeders’ Cup action kicks off Friday at Santa Anita with 5 events starting with the mile and three quarter Marathon and ending with the 9-furlong Distaff.
Where: Santa Anita
When: Friday, November 1

Marathon: Blueskiesnrainbows
Juvenile Turf: Bobby’s Kitten
Dirt Mile: Goldencents
Juvenile Fillies Turf: My Conquestadory

Distaff: Royal Delta

For online sports betting site players stamina will be the key to the Marathon but this race is a puzzle wrapped in an enigma.

Whoever one likes, the price should be right so let’s take a shot with

This runner was dueled into submission last time but won the richest race at Pomona two back and he likes Anita. He has won twice in Arcadia in 7 starts and has only been out of the money once. He has speed but can sit just off the pace and still perform.

In the Juvenile Turf babies will be going a mile and some of these runners are improving by the hour.

Aotearoa is coming off a win over the course at the distance. Bobby’s Kitten drew off to win by over 6 lengths in his last race, the Grade 3 Pilgrim at Belmont.

Poker Player and Bashart just ran one/two in the Grade 3 Bourbon and Wilshire Boulevard, who was a neck away from winning a Group 2 in August.

Bobby’s Kitten gets the call of the recent facile victory.

The Dirt Mile is for the males that are not quite good enough to race in the Classic or for those with some distance limitations.

Hymn Book was only beaten a length by Graydar home in the Kelso.

Alpha won the Grade 1 Woodward in August, Fed Biz has been freshened since winning the Grade 2 O’Brien for Bob Baffert.

But Goldencents rates top billing. He won the Santa Anita Derby this spring, proved he can get the trip that day, and was flying at the end when second in a Grade 1 just under a month ago.

The Juvenile Fillies Turf is another inscrutable race to attempt to handicap.

Al Thakhira won her only 2 starts in England. Chriselliam is fresh from a Group 1 win at Newmarket, while Kitten Kaboodle just broke her maiden in a Grade 3 at Keeneland.

Testa Rossi has only run one poor race and she caught a soft course that day. She made her stateside debut a winning one by using a powerful late kick to take the Grade 3 Ms. Grillo.

The call goes to My Conquestadory, who started her career winning a Grade 2 in Canada on turf and then proved it was no fluke taking the Grade 1 Alcibiades at Keeneland. She is hung outside but can get to the rail and save ground.

The Distaff brings the curtain down on the BC Friday and championships loom in the balance.

Princess of Sylmar is shooting for her 5th Grade 1 win in a row. She has a super stalk and pounce style and will get honest splits to try to close into.

Beholder won the BC Juvenile here last year going wire-to-wire and will try to steal the race today. Stamina is the issue.

Close Hatches beat Princess of Sylmar in April but the call goes to Royal Delta, who is attempting to win this race for the third straight year. She figures to sit just off Beholder getting first run on the deep closers.

Good luck and win some cash for the Saturday action.
